As James’ grandmother, 88 years young, I’m very proud of what he is doing. I tell all my friends about him and was thrilled when he wished me a Happy Birthday from the Galley under water. He wrote on a board Happy Birthday Grandma. He is also very cute.

What a pleasure it is to see a young man,who really loves what he is doing. I watch them on every mission they go on,on my web cam. As James uncle, I can say,ever since he was a little boy he knew what he wanted in life. Now he gets a chance to enjoy what he loves. Hi, I see by the headline on the Aquarius page to the KMPS Seattle interview with James Talacek that the same old mistake is still being made. The statement that NOAA’s Aquarius is the “worlds only underwater habitat” is a mistake. There are two other facilities in South Florida that are, and have been continuously functioning as underwater research, education and recreation habitats for a long time. Both of these underwater habitats are indeed underwater (must dive to get to them), and both are regularly used for research and education projects. Both are privately owned and operated by Marine Resources Development Foundation and Key Largo Undersea Park of Key Largo Florida.
Hope this helps to clear things up.
Either way, the Aquarius is an awesome facility and the research being conducted there is quite literally out of this world.

Wow! It was fun listening to James talk about the experiences from underneath the sea. It makes me want to be there and experience that same thrill! Although, it is a tad small to co-exist in for longer than a day!

Mr Talacek did a great job on his interview and has made some people really interested about underwater life. What an adventure it must be to be able to go under water and do these amazing things as well as see life as it is!!!!
